What is Barre Pilates?
This class simplifies complex ballet technique and combines it with Pilates principles to deliver a safe, effective, flowing workout, with no need of dance experience. A barre class will help you burn off that negative energy, feel much better about yourself and give you a more positive outlook.
The isometric movements we use in Barre Pilates are so small that they bring a new level of awareness to the body that your wouldn’t get in a regular strength workout. Muscles which you may not even know you have are activated and used in classes, strengthening your mind-body connection as you workout. The tiny movements target muscles and repeated over time build up endurance. You will be able to hold positions longer. Sessions are hard on muscles but easy on joints; you will build muscles while still being low impact. Stretches are performed after each strength section of the class to ensure the muscles are re-lengthened to create a body that is strong without the added bulk of other regimes.
Physical Effects of Barre
Longer leaner muscles is one of the most noticeable changes. Barre Pilates lengthens your muscle to give you that much-desired dancers aesthetic. Your bottom will be more lifted and firmer as well as a flatter tummy. Barre Pilates helps tuck everything in and tones you in all those hard to reach places.
Feel Good Factor
Barre Pilates, like all exercise, releases chemicals called endorphins. The endorphins then interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain and trigger a positive feeling in the body.
